NextSense is a not-for-profit organisation supporting people with vision or hearing loss across Australia. We work with children, adults, and their families, providing a holistic approach to hearing services for newborns through to people over 90 years old, and helping children who are blind or have low vision to develop the right skills, mobility, and independence to confidently explore their world.

NextSense has been breaking boundaries since 1860, and we've been expanding our services ever since. Today, we deliver world-class education (both to children with sensory loss and to professionals in the field), cochlear implants, allied health services, therapy, research, and clinical services to children and adults. We're a registered NDIS provider, working with our clients to achieve their own goals and potential.

Our new world-leading centre for innovation on-site at Macquarie University NSW represents a new era for hearing and vision loss. This nationally significant social infrastructure project was undertaken to nurture, trial and share new ideas and form new partnerships that will drive better outcomes for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or have low vision.

The Role

NextSense has an exciting opportunity for aLead Graphic Designer & Traffic Managerto join our team based on campus, in a brand new building, at Macquarie University.

The Lead Graphic Designer & Traffic Manager provides innovative content and leads the designing of assets, marketing collateral and organisation-wide communications material.

You'll make a difference in this role by:

* Designing creative marketing collateral including annual reports, brochures, flyers and newsletters.
* Understanding and implement brand guidelines across all design touchpoints – thoroughly understand brand strategy, architecture, assets and brand hub (online brand platform) in detail
* Ownership of digital media production: Filming, photography, lighting, editing and producing final content
* Designing online content for the web, campaigns and social media channels when necessary.
* Manage the workflow via the job portal – this includes prioritisation of jobs, communication with internal clients as to jobs' status and ensuring on-time completion
* Work with and support multimedia and design colleagues in the delivery of the work and ensure sufficient time and resource is dedicated to projects as per prioritisation.

Reporting directly to the Head of Brand and Marketing we're offering this role on a permanent full-time basis. You'll work primarily on-site, ensuring close collaboration with colleagues and full integration into our workplace culture to support our services. While the position requires a regular presence in the office, we offer flexibility around on-site hours and occasional remote work, depending on team needs and individual circumstances.

About you

To be successful in this role you'll need to demonstrate you meet the following selection criteria.

Essential:

* Undergraduate Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design
* Five years graphic design experience
* Competent in Adobe Creative Suite: Adobe InDesign, Adobe photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Lightroom
* High level of experience with Microsoft PowerPoint
* Exposure to Adobe Premiere Adobe After Effect beneficial
* Sensitivity to issues associated with the publication of material about children and adults with disabilities.
* Demonstrated interest and commitment to working in the hearing and vision impairment space.
* a verified NSW Working With Children Check and criminal record check
* passion, patience, and responsiveness are essential in this position as well as an eagerness to learn, and most importantly, an enjoyment of working with people.
