Your role within Policy, Performance and First Nations will support the department to improve performance and achieve better outcomes for the State through the setting up and delivery of the departments and Government's long-term strategic reform agenda and objectives.
Strategic Policy and Intergovernmental Relations is responsible for leadership and coordination of strategic policy and reform directions for housing and homelessness in Queensland.
As Principal Policy Advisor you will contribute to delivering strategic policy, legislative and reform advice to support the Queensland Government's housing and homelessness policy objectives, with primary focus on the retirement villages and residential services sectors.
What you will be doing:
• Provide high quality and timely advice on strategic policy issues that intersect with housing outcomes and reform objectives.
• Undertake complex policy research and analysis to support strategic policy advice across legislative and reform development.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance policy outcomes and objectives, including through legislative reform.
• Prepare high quality written materials and communications about strategic policy, legislation, and reform, including briefs, Cabinet submissions, drafting instructions, consultation papers, regulatory impact statements, presentations, and speeches.
• Demonstrate visible policy leadership, direction, and focus.
• Support and help maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning workplace health and safety are applied and a part of day to-day operations.
