About the Role
The purpose of the Manager, Long Term Funding is to play a key role in strategically managing the BOQ Group’s wholesale long term funding requirements to ensure the delivery of the wholesale funding plan on a cost-effective basis.
The role will drive access and diversification in wholesale funding markets via the Group’s numerous debt programs to support growth. Manager, Long Term Wholesale will assist in issuance in both onshore and offshore debt markets including senior unsecured, covered bonds, residential mortgage and backed securities, subordinated debt and capital notes.
Along with the issuance the role will also require maintenance of these programmes. This position is responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships with debt investors, external banks, fund managers and a variety of internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the development of the Group’s strategic three-year funding plan in accordance with the Group’s Liquidity and Funding Risk Appetite, as well as more tactical shorter dated funding plans.
2. Assist in the planning and execution of long-term wholesale funding trades, including senior unsecured, covered bonds, residential mortgage back securities.
3. Develop strategic funding recommendations to the Head of Funding, Treasurer and the Asset and Liability Committee.
4. Provide internal advisory services on long term wholesale funding options and structuring to deliver and implement the optimal debt market solutions.
5. Manage financial and non-financial risk obligations of long-term wholesale functions, developing a strong risk culture within the team.
6. Develop and maintain key relationships internally and externally.
About you
7. Experience in, and understanding of, funding and securitisation markets
8. Strong desire to stay current on Regulatory changes relating to Treasury & Financial Markets
9. 3-5 years’ experience in Treasury & Financial Markets environment
10. Strong people management skills
11. Tertiary qualifications in a Finance discipline, Post Graduate qualifications highly desirable.
12. Strong understanding and focus on both financial and non-financial risk.
