THE OPPORTUNITY
As a key member of the Callide Site Engineering team, you will deliver high-quality engineering expertise, guidance, and support to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of plant assets. This role supports the Unit Plant Engineering team; who are responsible for Boiler, Turbine and Auxiliary plant areas and plays a critical part in sustaining asset performance and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify, assess, and mitigate plant risks in line with safety standards and business objectives.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of plant strategies, projects, and improvement initiatives.
* Identify and prioritise engineering work based on process safety and risk considerations.
* Develop, implement, and govern maintenance and capital strategies for allocated asset areas.
* Establish and apply performance measures to improve safety, reliability, production, and asset availability.
* Ensure compliance with all asset-related regulatory and legislative requirements.
* Support asset governance by ensuring consistent application of maintenance standards and quality of work.
* Investigate failures and incidents, including root cause analysis of critical and high-priority events.
* Contribute to outage planning and execution, providing technical advice, standards, and governance support.
* Develop and deliver asset improvement projects aligned with long-term asset strategies and commercial outcomes.
* Provide coaching and mentoring to engineers, graduates, operators, and maintainers as required.
* Manage plant change processes to enable innovation while safeguarding asset integrity.
ABOUT YOU
About You
* Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant discipline (or equivalent qualifications).
* RPEQ certification (desirable) or the ability to obtain.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in thermal power generation or heavy industry (desirable).
* Strong knowledge of asset management principles, including equipment strategies, risk management, and lifecycle planning.
* Experience in root cause analysis, plant modifications, and enterprise risk management.
* Understanding of capital planning, budgeting, and whole-of-life asset management processes.
This role is based full time (40 hours) at Callide Power Station, outside of Biloela. This is an exciting role offering exposure to complex plant, meaningful engineering challenges, and the opportunity to shape asset strategy while contributing to the safe and reliable delivery of power.
