Role Overview
UMENCO is currently seeking an experienced Finance Manager for a renowned Australian menswear brand.
The Finance Manager as the senior financial leader will report directly to the General Manager and partner closely with the Managing Director and executive team. Leading a Finance and Accounts team, the role provides end-to-end financial stewardship, commercial insight and governance across the business. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership with hands-on operational control to support disciplined cashflow management, profitable growth and informed decision-making across product, supply chain and multi-channel trading.
This role requires a highly analytical and commercially astute financial leader with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to move confidently between strategy and execution. Strong communication, stakeholder management and people leadership skills are essential, alongside a collaborative and solutions-focused approach. The successful talent will bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or accounting within an omnichannel environment, ideally with vertical apparel exposure and hold an accounting or finance degree with CPA qualification mandatory. Advanced capability across Microsoft Office, financial systems and ERP platforms is required as well as the ability to coach and influence non-financial stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include translating business strategy into robust financial plans, budgets, forecasts and long-range planning. The Finance Manager oversee all accounting, taxation and statutory compliance, manages daily cashflow and banking and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting at both company and store level. The role drives continuous improvement across financial processes, proactively identifying efficiencies and profitability opportunities, while leading, developing and reviewing the performance of the finance team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of all finance functions.
A core focus of the role is cross-departmental financial leadership, partnering with operations, buying, merchandise planning, retail, ecommerce, design and production teams to monitor spend, minimise wastage and keep activity aligned to budget. This includes delivering regular financial reviews, providing data-driven insights and tools, administering key ERP, payroll and HR systems and contributing to IT and systems strategy. Success is measuring through accurate budgeting and forecasting, strong cashflow control, effective stakeholder relationships, consistent financial reporting and a proactive commitment to governance, confidentiality, accountability and continuous improvement in line with company policies and KPI's.
