Solicitor | Disputes and Insolvency (Brisbane)
Overview
The Disputes & Insolvency practice group has a wonderful opportunity for a motivated Solicitor with 1-5 years + PAE to join our Brisbane office on a permanent full-time basis.
You will be part of a dynamic team and will be responsible for providing complex advice to private and public sector clients on a diverse range of commercial, taxation and insolvency disputes. This role is ideal for a practitioner looking to take the next step towards developing their own client base in conjunction with the broader team's existing clientele. You will have support from the Principals and colleagues to develop your business development skills and build your practice.
Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of dispute resolution and insolvency matters from start to finish, including conducting research, drafting pleadings and submissions, attending court, and negotiating settlements
* Provide legal advice and support to clients on disputes and insolvency matters, including bankruptcy, liquidation, receivership, and insolvency litigation
* Work collaboratively with clients, partners, and other team members to develop and implement effective strategies to resolve disputes and insolvency matters
* Assist in the development and training of junior team members
Role Requirements
The successful applicant will possess the following:
* 1-5+ years post admission experience
* Previous experience working in disputes and insolvency
* Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
* A high level of attention to detail and technical excellence
* High-level problem-solving skills and an ability to learn new tasks quickly
* Strong time management and organisational skills, together with the capacity to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities
* Ability and willingness to develop your own network and actively participate in marketing and business development activities
