Volunteer to support people with Down syndrome in a fun exercise program: FitSkills21
FitSkills21 is an evidence-based physical activity program for people with Down syndrome. In this program, a person with Down syndrome will be matched with a volunteer partner. The program runs throughout the term where participants go to the gym together with their volunteer partner once a week followed by a social meal with other participants and volunteers. The workouts are tailored by a physiotherapist with regular check ins.

What commitment is required from volunteers?
Completing all onboarding requirements including obtaining an NDIS Worker Screening Check (which is free to apply for volunteers!) Once onboarded, you'll attend the weekly FitSkills21 sessions during school terms, helping your partner to stay motivated and have fun on the journey! You'll also be asked to help liaise with the physiotherapist during assessment appointments.
