About The Role

As a Software Quality Engineer at Australian Retirement Trust, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability and performance of our digital solutions. Working within a cross‐functional agile squad, you will help deliver new capabilities and improvements that create meaningful value for our members.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing, developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and test scripts across multiple layers of the testing pyramid
* Writing and executing automated tests, with manual testing as required, to support feature development and regression testing
* Investigating defects, supporting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
* Creating, managing and maintaining defect records in line with ART standards, and contributing to improvements in defect management practices
* Participating in code reviews and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of test automation frameworks and tooling
* Designing, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to support quality engineering practices
* Producing clear and detailed documentation for test solutions, including framework design, coverage and integration points
* Capturing and reporting test automation metrics, providing traceability to requirements and reporting progress, risks and issues to stakeholders

About You
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them.
* A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
* Hands‐on experience developing software using modern programming languages such as C#, Java or TypeScript
* Proven experience with UI and API test automation frameworks (for example, Selenium, Postman, UFT)
* Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab, and supporting automated testing within delivery pipelines
* Strong problem‐solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset toward quality assurance
* Experience contributing to the design and implementation of test automation frameworks and quality engineering practices
* The ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‐technical stakeholders, translating complex information clearly
* A collaborative approach, with the willingness and capability to mentor graduate or junior Software Quality Engineers
Desirable experience includes:
Exposure to cloud technologies, Agile delivery environments, BDD practices and tools, financial services environments, and relevant certifications such as ISTQB.
