Public Sector People is working with Logan city Council to recruit an experienced Investigations Officer on a temporary contract with the opportunity to extend and/or apply for a permanent position within the team. The Investigations Officer is responsible for investigating planning law breaches through site inspections, evidence gathering, stakeholder communication, and preparing reports for management while ensuring compliance with Council safety policies.

* Pay rate of $42.96 per hour + super
* Logan Area | On-site parking
* Contract until 30th November 2026 + extension + or direct appointment.
What you will be doing
* Investigation of development offences pursuant to the Planning Act 2016
* Carry out site inspections and interview alleged offenders and witnesses to gather evidence
* Communicate with community members to provide updates and advise of outcomes of investigations.
* Draft briefings on compliance investigations to management and Councillors
* Must adhere to all Council safety policies and directives
About You
* Highly developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.
* Ability to negotiate and apply conflict resolution skills to influence outcomes at all levels.
* Proven ability to conduct inspections and investigations on a community level, and produce effective outcomes within the parameters of relevant Legislation and Council policies.
* Experience in development compliance or Town Planning is desirable but not essential.
* Cert IV in Investigations, WHS or relevant experience
* Background in police or enforcement
* Available to start as soon as possible
