Fixed Plant Processing & Operational Maintenance Planner
The Fixed Plant Processing and Operational Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling the day‑to‑day activities of processing plant personnel, including both routine operational tasks and non‑routine maintenance and improvement works. This role manages the coordination of activities such as sampling and laboratory work, inspections, monitoring, operational maintenance, and housekeeping, while also planning shutdown preparation, plant modification works, and targeted area clean‑ups. The position plays a critical role in optimising processing plant productivity, ensuring resources are effectively allocated, and maintaining clean, safe, and well‑presented work areas that support asset longevity. Success in this role requires proactive and professional collaboration with a broad range of internal stakeholders, including maintenance execution, planning, processing, warehouse, and administrative teams, as well as external vendors, freight providers, and technical specialists.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Ownership of Work Management for the Processing department:
· Development of weekly Processing / Lab work schedule in conjunction with the on-crew Processing Supervisor & Superintendent.
· Review work requests & develop job packs including the required: Labour, Tooling, consumables, Machinery & Permits.
· Monitoring of KPI's Including PM Effectiveness, Backlog Aging & Compliance to Plan.
* Work with the Maintenance & Metallurgical departments to champion plant improvement projects from a process & logistics perspective.
* Construct high level stepped out procedures for large or complex work packages such as Tank cleanouts or under-stockpile inspections.
* Review execution of work packages and make necessary adjustments to the CMMS (Pronto) PM tasks and MS Project templates.
* Co-ordinate the procurement of parts & labour with external vendors.
* Support vendor management & long-term supply contracts
* Work in conjunction with the fixed plant shutdown planners to develop a plan for required shutdown preparation tasks as well as necessary Isolation groups to support a given maintenance work scope.
About You:
* Must provide evidence of at least one of the following:
* A Minimum of 4 years of Trade electrical experience relevant to Fixed Plant Maintenance.
* A Minimum of 4 years of Processing Operator/Maintainer experience.
* Must demonstrate appreciable Organisational, Administrative & Interpersonal skills, including the ability to comfortably run meetings and quickly formulate professionally written emails.
* Mechanically minded, with demonstratable comprehension of standard maintenance / Operational literature such as navigating Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams & Process flows.
* Fundamental understanding of task execution required – including ability to identify the need for craneage, scaffolding, Elevated Work Platforms, ancillary machinery or conflicting work fronts.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Project & Microsoft Excel is preferred, as well as prior use & understanding of any CMMS package (Computerized Maintenance Management System) – Ideally Pronto, but experience in Pronto is not exclusively required.
* Experience working with a SCADA system to support the automated or semi-automated operation of a processing plant and its constituent systems (Crushing, Milling etc.)
* Previous experience with Group isolation- including the development and execution of group isolation permits - Ideally having previously held permits as a group isolation controller at a previous workplace.
