About The Roles
Pungalina is a vast wildlife sanctuary stretching from the Savannah Way to the pristine coastline of the Gulf of Carpentaria. Owned and operated by the Australian Wildlife Conservancy, the sanctuary protects a diverse range of ecosystems and is home to more than 350 species of mammals, birds, reptiles and frogs.
Outback Spirit Tours is seeking an experienced couple to manage Pungalina Safari Camp for the upcoming touring season, running through to the beginning of October. This is a rare opportunity to live and work onsite in a truly spectacular and remote location, with accommodation and meals provided.
These are hands-on roles responsible for the day-to-day operations of the lodge. Working together, you will lead a small team and oversee all aspects of the guest experience, property operations, and logistics to ensure every guest enjoys an exceptional and memorable stay.
At least one person must hold a Coxswain Licence and be confident operating our vessel to take guests out on the Calvert River.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Leading and supporting a small team to deliver exceptional guest experiencesManaging daily lodge operations, including staff coordination, logistics and administrationOverseeing property and infrastructure maintenanceDelivering and supporting guest activities and guided experiencesEnsuring guest accommodation and lodge facilities are presented to the highest standardSupporting the team in delivering outstanding food and beverage serviceManaging budgets and maintaining effective cost controlDriving a strong safety culture, ensuring incidents and hazards are reported and addressed promptlyConducting staff inductions and supporting ongoing training and developmentWorking towards achieving strong Net Promoter Scores (NPS) and overall guest satisfaction

About You
You have a genuine passion for travel, hospitality and the Australian outback, and you are excited by the opportunity to live and work in a remote environment.
The ideal couple will bring a combination of operational, hospitality and practical skills, along with the enthusiasm to create outstanding guest experiences.
To be successful you will have:
One person must hold a Coxswain LicenceExperience in maintenance, property care, or as a ground person (preferred)Proven experience in lodge, tourism or hospitality managementPrevious experience working in remote locations (highly regarded)Strong leadership and team management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesA passion for hospitality, tourism and adventure travelThe ability to remain calm, flexible and solutions-focused in a remote environmentResponsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificationRemote First Aid certification (including CPR)Food Safety certification
