For over 70 years Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd (Hancock) has been engaged in the exploration and development of mineral resources in Western Australia, with current tenements across the Pilbara and Yilgarn.
These tenements include advanced projects such as Mulga Downs and East Angelas iron ore projects, and an expanding portfolio of non-ferrous exploration and resource definition.
In order to support our exploration programmes, the company is now looking to recruit an Exploration Geologist, FIFO out of Perth on a 15:13 roster.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise RC and diamond drilling programs
* Conduct geological mapping, sampling, logging, and interpretation
* Design drill holes and update geological interpretations using Leapfrog and/or ArcGIS
* Build and maintain high-quality geological datasets to support exploration and resource definition
* Collaborate closely with in-house drilling and technical services teams
* Maintain high standards across safety, environmental compliance, and QA/QC in remote field settings
To be successful in this role you will have the following career experience
* Strong technical capability, practical field experience, and a proactive, safety-focused approach.
* A relevant tertiary qualification in Geology or Earth Sciences
* Demonstrated experience in mineral exploration, preferably iron ore in Western Australia
* Strong skills in field mapping, core logging, and geological sampling
* Experience supervising drill programs and contributing to geological modelling
* Proficiency in Leapfrog and ArcGIS for 3D interpretation and drill design
* Previous experience or the ability to work autonomously and effectively in remote FIFO environments.
* Manual Drivers license – Essential preferably WA
