Role Overview
Gympie Regional Council is seeking a skilled Spray Operator for a full-time role with Biosecurity Services. The position focuses on high volume herbicide distribution for weed control and roadside maintenance spraying, to support sustainable land use and reduce the impacts of invasive plants across the Gympie region.
You will carry out work in accordance with the Biosecurity Act 2014, Council policies, and relevant legislation, across locations including State and local road networks, Council‐managed reserves and waterways, facilities, and private properties, as directed.
What we are looking for
Council is seeking an experienced and skilled spray operator, with a current ACDC licence (or the ability to obtain prior to commencement), to join our Biosecurity team as a full‐time team member.
A person with demonstrated experience and knowledge of integrated best practice vegetation control methods including herbicide application, manual control methods, along with experience and knowledge of environmental factors influencing herbicide selection will do well in this role.

Candidates with knowledge of invasive species specific to the Gympie region and their control methods will be highly regarded. Similarly, candidates with 4WD driving and recovery training certification, basic vehicle and machinery maintenance knowledge will also be highly regarded.
Candidates who possess a QLD MR Drivers Licence (or the ability to obtain) would be considered favourably.
