Overview
Part Time (0.4 FTE) ongoing position with flexible days and hours on offer. Based from our Narre Warren, Knox and Dandenong offices with travel. Salary: $55.98ph + Super + Salary Packaging advantages of up to $18,550.
Join our Youth Health Clinic team supporting headspace Dandenong, Knox and Narre Warren. You will deliver high-quality, evidence-based primary health care in partnership with GPs, headspace staff, local schools, and other youth-focused services to support young people with physical, mental, and sexual health concerns, including AOD support.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic engagement, assessment, and ongoing support to young people aged 12–25
- Deliver clinical services across headspace GP Clinics and the “Doctors in Secondary Schools” program
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments including mental state exams, risk assessments, and HEADDs assessments
- Collaborate with GPs, school wellbeing teams, and external services to develop integrated care plans
- Offer clinical education, health promotion, and referrals for AOD, sexual health, mental health, and physical wellbeing
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and contribute to service reporting
- Work closely with the headspace Services Manager to support service delivery needs within your scope
Qualifications
- Registration as a Division 1 Nurse with AHPRA
- Postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health
- Experience working with young people experiencing mental health concerns
- Clinical skills across physical, sexual, and mental health, including AOD
- Strong engagement skills with young people and families
- Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Unrestricted driver’s licence
- High level of computer literacy and ability to work with EMR systems
Highly Regarded
- Postgraduate qualifications in adolescent health, sexual and reproductive health
- Experience working in youth health settings or school-based clinics
