Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a qualified and passionate Science Teacher with the capability and experience to teach Biology at the HSC level. This is a full-time position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful applicant will be part of a dynamic Science Faculty and may be involved in teaching across various year levels.
Key Responsibilities:
* Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging and effective Science/Biology curriculum for Stage 4-6 students, with a particular focus on HSC success.
* Student Engagement: Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and success.
* Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic development.
* Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to create a cohesive and effective learning community. Participate actively in faculty discussions and contribute to extracurricular programs.
* Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with the latest educational practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
* A Bachelor's degree in Education with a specialisation in Biology.
* Experience in teaching Stage 6 Biology, with a strong understanding of the HSC curriculum.
* Strong passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs.
* Proficiency in using technology to enhance the learning experience, including familiarity with the Google Suite.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Familiarity with the NSW Curriculum and Assessment framework.
* Valid Working with Children Check clearance.
