We're looking for an organised, proactive Administration Assistant who thrives in a purpose‐driven environment. In this role, you'll be the backbone of Mount Isa Recovery Services—supporting daily operations, assisting people in need, and helping our team deliver meaningful, high‐impact community services.

The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia's largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely.
The Role
Keep our service running smoothly through efficient, high‐quality administrative support.Be a compassionate first point of contact for stakeholders, including individuals experiencing distress—ensuring they receive timely support or referral to the right services.Provide financial administration support to the Service Manager, contributing to the effective operation of the service.
How You Will Make An Impact
Manage general administrative tasks: mail collection, filing (digital and physical), data entry, SAMIS updates, correspondence, and arranging participant transport.Champion continuous improvement and innovation to enhance service quality.Make informed decisions within delegated authority.Support financial processes including invoicing, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and stationery orders.Deliver exceptional stakeholder service across phone, in‐person, and online interactions.
What You'll Bring
Demonstrated experience in administrative or accounts support roles, including accurate record-keeping and maintaining documentation for audit and compliance purposes, with the ability to work independently.Certificate III or IV qualifications (highly regarded but not essential).Experience in community services or the not‐for‐profit sector (advantageous).Commitment to ongoing professional development.Strong initiative, motivation, and a reliable work ethic.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage positively with diverse individuals.Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.A collaborative, flexible, and positive approach to teamwork.Customer‐focused mindset with a high attention to detail.Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
