Stakeholder Engagement Officer – Identified

At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

* Ongoing Full-Time
* Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available
* Clerk Grade 7/8 - $113,574 to $125,720 plus superannuation and leave loading

About the role

* Design and deliver stakeholder engagement strategies that strengthen partnerships with the NSW AECG, Aboriginal communities and government partners to progress Closing the Gap priorities
* Build and sustain trusted relationships across complex governance forums to support shared decision-making and coordinated reform outcomes
* Prepare and coordinate high-quality briefs, reports and forums that inform senior leaders, support transparency and drive measurable impact

The Stakeholder Engagement Officer supports the design, coordination and delivery of engagement strategies that strengthen partnerships across the Department, the NSW AECG, other government agencies and Aboriginal community controlled organisations. The role contributes to the Department's responsibilities under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap particularly Priority Reform 1 (Formal Partnerships and Shared Decision Making) and Priority Reform 3 (Transforming Government Organisations) by ensuring collaboration, shared accountability and cultural responsiveness underpin all education reforms.

About you

* Strong experience in stakeholder engagement, with a proven ability to build trusted relationships with Aboriginal communities, government partners and internal teams
* Understanding and commitment to Aboriginal Education priorities, the Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG, and the principles of Closing the Gap
* Communicate with clarity and influence, producing high-quality briefs, reports and correspondence for senior leaders and diverse audiences
* Work confidently across complex governance environments, balancing competing priorities while maintaining respectful, culturally responsive engagement
* Plan and deliver work effectively in fast-paced settings, adapting to change and contributing to measurable outcomes through collaboration
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

* This position is designated for the employment of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
