Overview
Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Clinician role with NSW Health.
Permanent Full Time position based in Broken Hill, NSW.
Responsibilities
Perform specialist mental health and drug and alcohol assessment, care planning and case management services for people experiencing mental health and drug and alcohol problems.
Provide specialist assessment, case management and clinical intervention, consultation and liaison services.
Ensure that families and carers have input in assessments, care plans and reviews.
Participate in Outreach and leave relief for the MHDA Services as required.
Develop and demonstrate cultural competence and a commitment to improving health outcomes of Aboriginal people.
What You'll Be Doing
Same as responsibilities above; the role focuses on frontline specialist clinical work as part of a supportive team providing optimal patient experience.
Qualifications
Recognised degree/qualification in health or behavioural science such as Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Health Science (with eligibility for NSW Registration/Professional Association where relevant) with a minimum of two years clinical experience in mental health.
Demonstrated effective communication skills both written and verbal, with intermediate computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.
Evidence-based practice and critical thinking applied to advocate for and implement individualised person-centred care.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with a commitment to working with service partners, including carers and NGOs.
Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment with mutual respect.
Active participation in professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancing skills.
Understanding of ethical practice and the recovery model for patient-centred care.
Current driver's licence to drive in NSW.
