Run what runs the world.This Position reports to:Workshop ManagerYour role and responsibilitiesABB Motion Services in Eagle Farm, Queensland, is the perfect place to launch your career after completing your Electrical Fitter apprenticeship. As part of a global industry leader, you'll work with cutting‐edge technology, gain hands‐on experience with AC/DC traction motors, and build your skills across testing, diagnostics, manufacturing, machining, repairs, and full overhauls. With more than 40 years of expertise and world‐class facilities—including on‐site machine and load‐testing—you'll be joining a team that sets the benchmark for technical excellence and supports major customers across Australia.The work model for the role is: Onsite #LI-OnsiteYou will be mainly accountable for:Contributing to customer satisfaction by executing workshop orders according to workshop processes and guidelines.Performing workshop tasks such as troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and testing.Checking bill of materials and other documents to identify required parts needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available.Ensuring the completion, processing, and maintenance of all required documentation.Perform Electrical testing and recording of measurements as per OEM Standard and complete motor Stator and armature rewind.Qualifications for the roleA recognised Electrical Fitter trade qualification and a current electrical licence, ready to put your skills into real‐world practice.Hands‐on experience from your apprenticeship, with a strong interest in growing your capability in a professional workshop environment.A solid foundation in stator and armature rewinding or a strong willingness to develop this as a core trade skill.Confidence working with rotating motors and generators, with exposure to Industrial or Rail environments seen as a bonus.Mechanical and electrical awareness, especially around refurbishment, repairs, and diagnostics of rotating machines.Ability to complete clear inspection reports—whether handwritten or digital—as part of quality documentation.A current Queensland driver's licence to support workshop and site‐based tasks.What's in it for you?Join a team where your input is valued, and your work has a clear impact.
