The Head of SCM is responsible for leading and optimizing the supply chain operations for Melbourne Product Manufacturing. This role involves overseeing the end-to-end supply chain process, including sourcing, procurement, planning, inventory management, logistics, and warehousing. Your responsibilities: Sourcing Lead sourcing activities including negotiations, costing, vendor selection etc. Participate in the selection of suppliers by analysis, evaluation, and handle operational relations and interfaces with selected suppliers Supplier development Evaluate supplier cost structures and negotiate pricing agreements. Collaborate with suppliers to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives. Assess and mitigate risks related to supplier pricing and contracts. Establish strong relationships with key suppliers, improve the overall supplier relationship management. Procurement Oversee the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of raw materials and components Monitor and manage procurement budgets to ensure cost efficiency Expedite Purchase Orders to ensure on-time-delivery, this includes physical visits to suppliers to check on progress. Inventory management & Logistics Develop and manage inventory control processes to ensure optimal stock levels and reduce carrying costs. Analyze inventory data to forecast demand and adjust inventory strategies as needed. Ensure alignment between production schedules and inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess inventory. Follow up with logistics to ensure timely inward & outward deliveries What you bring: Functional Competency Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as Epicor and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) Import buying, custom related transactions, trade laws etc. Cost analysis of supply chain operations Stay current with industry trends and advancements in SCM Behavioural Competency Strong problem-solving skills Ability to make data-driven decisions Planning & organization skills Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking Key Metrics Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize costs Develop and drive KPIs related to supply chain costs Prepare & report on supply chain metrics, performance, and initiatives What we offer: Competitive remuneration package on offer.
