About the Role:
We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Travel Centre based in Rockhampton. Our travel consultants provide high quality, friendly customer service. This role suits someone with a passion for customer service and a genuine interest in helping people. You will be a quick thinker with the ability to work through problems and provide solutions and will work autonomously.
This is a fixed term, full‐time position until July 2027.

Purpose That Counts. As a Travel Consultant, some of your duties will include:
* Providing accurate travel advice and completing reservations and ticketing for rail, third‐party and corporate travel.
* Processing payments efficiently and ensuring every interaction meets quality assurance standards.
* Driving revenue by upselling travel products and encouraging repeat business.
* Maintaining strong product and industry knowledge through ongoing training and familiarisation activities.
* Building positive relationships and maximizing goodwill with internal and external customers.
* Supporting Queensland Rail Travel operations by following all policies, procedures and safety requirements.
* Contributing to a collaborative Customer Contact team and assisting with additional duties when required.
Shift schedule: Monday to Friday 5:45 am to 2:00 pm and Saturday‐Sunday 5:45 am to 9:15 am. Shifts are 4 to 8.5 hours long, varying day to day based on roster requirements. You will also work weekends (approximately one weekend per month) and may need to travel for work. Flexibility is required as hours can change due to operational needs.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Intermediate computer and Microsoft Office skills; previous experience with travel booking systems is highly regarded but not essential.
* Previous tourism experience is desirable but not essential.
