This is a Associate Director Transaction Banking Solutions role with Commonwealth Bank based in Brisbane City, QLD, AU Commonwealth Bank Role Seniority - director More about the Associate Director Transaction Banking Solutions role at Commonwealth Bank See yourself in our team Our Institutional Transaction Banking team provides working-capital solutions and advice to business and government customers within Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M). We cover specialist product areas including domestic and international payment solutions, cash management and a range of digital services including merchant solutions, to help clients manage cash-flow and financial operations. Do work that matters: This Associate Director role based in our Brisbane office, reporting to the Brisbane based Director of Government, Education and Transport, will manage and grow an important portfolio of strategic clients. The role combines commercial account management, cross sell and sales targets product and implementation knowledge (payments, cash management, merchant services) and operational coordination to deliver high-quality, compliant transaction banking solutions for government customers. Further responsibilities include: Develop and maintain strong strategic client relationships and ensures day to day service levels are upheld. Develop and maintain client plans that align commercial objectives and delivery roadmaps with product partners and operations; lead initiatives that deepen client relationships and generate revenue. Prepare client reporting, financial and data models, business cases and RFP/proposal responses for government procurement; consolidate multiple data sources into clear, actionable reports. Identify and convert cross-sell opportunities across payments, cash management and merchant channels; coordinate with Sales, Product Management and Distribution to deliver propositions. Provide subject matter input into payments implementations and finance transformation programs (including ERP integrations, APIs and SaaS solutions) to ensure solutions meet client and operational requirements. Work closely with Risk, Legal, Operations, Relationship and Product teams to ensure regulatory, compliance and operational readiness for new propositions and client changes. Maintain and apply knowledge of government procurement cycles, public sector governance and regulatory developments that affect transaction banking and payments. Mentor and guide junior team members and lead cross-functional workstreams as required, including product decommissioning and repricing exercises. We’re interested in hearing from people who have: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, commerce, business, information technology or related discipline, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in transaction banking, payments, financial services, finance transformation, relationship/account management, project management, business development, consulting or IT pre-sales. Demonstrated commercial acumen and experience driving revenue through cross-sell or new business development. Strong analytical skills, including financial and data modelling and the ability to merge and interpret multiple data sets to support business decisions. Working knowledge of transaction banking products (payments, cash management, merchant solutions) and familiarity with regulatory requirements for these services. Sound technical understanding of ERP integration, APIs and SaaS commercial/technical considerations; capable of liaising with IT and product teams. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior government stakeholders and internal partners. Strong organisation, attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset. Prior experience working with government clients (local, state or federal), including tender/procurement experience and understanding of public sector governance is highly advantageous.
