We are now seeking a Process & Wastewater Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role will be central in managing and optimising production processes and wastewater systems across all Tarac sites. You'll play a key role in ensuring efficient operations, improving sustainability, and meeting environmental and compliance requirements.
About the Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will:
* Oversee and support the day-to-day operations of wastewater treatment plants across required sites.
* Monitor water balances, manage faults, and ensure wastewater discharge remains within limits.
* Support pre-treatment systems for process water, including filtration, softening, demineralisation, and MFRO plants.
* Review and report environmental monitoring programs, and ensure compliance (EPA, NPI, NGER).
* Lead production process optimisation projects to improve efficiency, sustainability, and quality.
* Manage multidisciplinary engineering projects from scope and costing through to delivery.
* Prepare P&ID drawings and undertake engineering modelling to support design and operational improvements.
* Work with internal teams and external contractors to resolve issues, deliver projects, and drive improvements.
About You
You'll bring a strong mix of technical knowledge, practical skills, and problem-solving ability. Specifically, you will have:
* Tertiary qualifications in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar engineering, process, or wastewater role.
* Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment and process water management.
* Experience using AutoCAD, Aspen, and/or Visio, with advanced Excel skills desirable.
* Project management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to negotiate with suppliers.
* Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and confidence communicating across all levels.
* A current South Australian driver's licence.
