The Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading industry superannuation fund with a strong track record and over 30 years of history. Reporting to the General Manager, Finance, the Head of Finance plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the organisation's financial management, governance, and operations. This position is central to delivering high‐quality financial insights, supporting strategic decision‐making, and ensuring compliance within a highly regulated environment. This is a broad and hands‐on role offering end‐to‐end exposure across finance, with the opportunity to influence outcomes at an executive level.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Operations
* Lead day-to-day finance operations across a lean team
* Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
* Manage cashflow, liquidity and banking relationships
* Maintain a strong internal control environment and governance framework
* Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes and efficiency
Financial Reporting
* Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting outputs
* Lead external reporting and audit processes
* Deliver meaningful performance reporting and insights
* Support Board and Committee reporting with clear, decision-useful outputs
* Oversee APRA and regulatory reporting requirements
Financial Insights & Business Partnering
* Translate financial data into actionable insights
* Partner with stakeholders to drive cost discipline and accountability
* Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning
* Provide input into pricing, resource allocation and strategic initiatives
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
* Lead and develop a small, high-performing team
* Engage effectively with senior leadership and key stakeholders
* Manage external relationships, including auditors and regulators
Strategic Alignment
* Support execution of the organisation's financial strategy
* Ensure alignment across financial management, risk, and business objectives
* Strengthen data-driven decision-making across the organisation
Key Requirements
* 10+ years' experience in senior finance roles within financial services
* Strong background across financial control, reporting and FP&A
* Experience operating in a regulated environment (APRA exposure advantageous)
* Commercially minded with strong analytical capability
* Proven stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
* High levels of integrity, accountability and attention to detail
* Hands‐on, pragmatic and solutions-focused
* Strong leadership capability with experience developing teams
