About the Role
This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a graduate or junior administrator looking to build a career in retail merchandising. As a Merchandise Assistant, you’ll support the Category Manager and Group Buyer with the day-to-day coordination of products, promotions and stock across a national store network.
You’ll gain hands-on exposure to buying, pricing, promotions and stock management while being supported by an experienced and collaborative team. No two days will be the same, making this a great role for someone who enjoys organisation, problem-solving and working in a fast-paced retail environment.
What Will You Do?
* Support the Category Manager and Group Buyer with general administration and reporting tasks.
* Assist with costing sheets, order creation and tracking stock from supplier to store.
* Help ensure promotional and advertised products are ordered and delivered on time.
* Action price updates, promotions and product changes in internal systems.
* Assist with stock management activities including range updates and obsolete stock reviews.
* Maintain accurate product records, buying samples and store data.
* Respond to queries from stores and suppliers, providing friendly and timely support.
* Assist with ad hoc projects and daily stock replenishment tasks.
What Skills and Experience Do You Need?
* Previous experience in a retail environment is advantageous, but not essential.
* Intermediate computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (including Excel) and Outlook.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
* A positive, proactive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A qualification in business, commerce, retail or a related field is beneficial, but not required.
* Graduate applications are welcome.
