Job Description
HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly clients living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer, you'll be actively involved with a local Christian church.

We're seeking a pastoral care volunteer to visit a gentle,faith-filled woman for one hour each week.
Originally from Egypt and a former school teacher, she lovesJesus, her family, and tending to the garden.
She's hoping for someone to talk with, read the Bible, andpray alongside her - bringing comfort, connection, and spiritual encouragement.
Your visit could be a true blessing, apply now to walkbeside her in faith and friendship.
You'll supplement andcomplement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may:
* Support people to meet their spiritual needs
Skills required for this role:
- High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills.
- Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training- Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer.
Spiritual Care Series North Turramurra - Face to face
When: starts Wednesday 7th May, concludes 2nd July 2025. Note a break for the week 4th June
Time:2:00 – 4:00pm
Where: Leighton Lodge, Nth Turramurra

18 years or older
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
