Role Description
This is a part-time Psychologist role based in Newcastle, NSW, with a hybrid working arrangement that allows some work from home alongside in-clinic duties. The Psychologist will provide evidence-based assessment and therapy to clients across the lifespan, including individuals, families, and groups. Day-to-day tasks include conducting psychological assessments, formulating treatment plans, delivering interventions, and preparing clear, timely clinical documentation and reports. The role also involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, engaging with referrers and support networks, and contributing to group programs or community outreach where appropriate. The successful candidate will support a safe, inclusive, and client-centered environment aligned with the practice's values.
Qualifications
* Strong foundation in Psychology, including applied psychological theories and evidence-based interventions.
* Experience in Counseling and Mental Health support, with the ability to build therapeutic rapport across diverse client groups.
* Competence in Psychological Assessment, including administration, scoring, interpretation, and report writing.
* Understanding of relevant aspects of Medicine and healthcare systems as they relate to mental health and multidisciplinary care.
* Current registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA.
* Experience working within NDIS, Medicare, or similar funding frameworks is highly regarded.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear documentation and collaborative communication with families and stakeholders.
* Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team, with strong professional boundaries and time-management skills.
* Commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally safe practice.
* Current Working With Children Check and NDIS workers screener check (or willingness to obtain).
