Footsteps's Social Worker provides comprehensive psychological and therapeutic services. The practitioner delivers evidence-based support interventions across a broad range of clients, multiple agencies and programs including the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Aged Care, and Child Safety.
With a high level of interpersonal skills and impeccable report-writing skills, you have demonstrated experience in a similar role.
A strong practitioner, you work as part of a multidisciplinary team with your own caseload to support a diverse range of clients including pediatrics .

Main responsibilities:
•Manage day-to-day activities linked with the delivery of social work, psychological and therapeutical services.
•Develop and implement intervention strategies based on carefully evaluated evidence-based research.
•Keep accurate case notes and reports as appropriate, following FCS’ policies and procedures.
•Respond to allocated clients’ enquiries regarding the services provided.
•Oversee the implementation and ongoing monitoring of plans and assessments.
•Establish and maintain a good rapport and communication with clients and stakeholders.
•Communicate with individuals in a respectful and age-appropriate manner.
•Participate in services development, planning activities, training, development activities and team meetings.
•Contribute to a positive workplace environment grounded in mutual respect and professionalism with all colleagues.
•Provide great customer service by achieving high levels of client satisfaction, through supporting clients to achieve their objectives and timely communication.
•In circumstances where Footsteps is not the best option for the client, work with the client or referrers to find a more suitable alternative support pathway with other allied health professionals.
Clinical and Supervision Responsibilities:

Key selection criteria:
Mandatory:
•Tertiary qualification in Psychology or Social Work.
•Valid registration (AASW with AMHSW accreditation if applicable).
•Demonstrate at least two years of experience in an equivalent role.
•Hold, or be willing to obtain, a current criminal history screening positive notice card, a current Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening, and first aid qualifications.
•Roadworthy vehicle and current driver’s license.
•Good knowledge of the NDIS principles and processes.
•Strong report writing and computer skills.

•Proficient in undertaking a range of assessments.
•Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with people, their families, and other professionals
•Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
•Demonstrated experience in assessing people’s needs and areas of risk, identifying goals, developing action plans, and identifying emerging mental health issues.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in using client information management systems, electronic health records, e-health applications and
•Excellent leadership and people management skills including the ability to effectively coach, mentor and motivate multi-disciplinary teams and other key stakeholders.
