About The Role
Children's Centres for Early Childhood Development and Parenting (children's centres) provide a network of integrated health, family support and education service hubs for families with babies and young children across South Australia. Children's centres speech pathologists provide a range of discipline-informed group and individual services for children, families and colleagues that promote children's healthy development and support parenting through both universal and targeted service provision. The speech pathologist provides evidence-based services drawing upon key frameworks including attachment theory, trauma informed practice, cultural responsiveness, and they use a strengths-based approach. Speech pathologists are members of interdisciplinary teams working in partnership with families, government and non-government sector colleagues across community, home and learning environments. Student Support Services are on a cultural response journey, as such we value and prioritise Aboriginal ways of knowing, doing and being. The First Nations Children's Centres – The Taikurendi role is based in a Children's Centre/Child and Family Centre which services its community with a focus on supporting First Nations families with young children to give their children the best possible start in life.
Qualifications
* Essential: An appropriate degree or equivalent which gives eligibility for full membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
* Desirable: Current practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia with Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status.
Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years. Remuneration
AHP2 $91,785 - $106,330 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) + leave loading and applicable allowances.
