Clinical Coordinator Role
Forensicare, the Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health, is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to support our Mobile Forensic Mental Health Service (MobileFMHS) at the Metropolitan Remand Centre (MRC) Ravenhall.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient triage assessment and coordination of mental health care for MobileFMHS clients within MRC. They will liaise with other relevant mental health services during client transitions, provide mental health consultation, and offer clinical leadership and supervision to MRC-based nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Triage all referrals and prioritize waitlists accordingly.
* Participate in client transitions and discharge.
* Provide clinical leadership to nursing staff.
* Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Registered Nurse qualification.
* Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric Nursing or equivalent.
* At least 5 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
* Thorough knowledge of current psychiatric nursing practices and legislation.
* Experience in independently triaging referrals.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake assessments of prisoners with mental impairment.
* Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate interventions, counselling, and therapeutic programs.
