Overview
We are seeking a passionate Field Technician to provide exceptional maintenance support to ADF satellite communication systems on a fixed-term basis. The role offers flexibility for a newly qualified technician with complete equipment training or for a senior technician who can work independently. The position allows delivery of technical training to ADF, Raytheon Australia and other contractor personnel at numerous sites, upkeep of Training Management Packages, conducting of training evaluation and provision of support to training review boards for both fixed and transportable SATCOM systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Provision of specialist on and off‑site maintenance services to SATCOM SPO assets
* Provision of Configuration Management support to selected mission systems
* Provision of warehouse and supply support activities for Breakdown Spares, Repairable Items and Support and Test Equipment
* Ensure compliance with governance and ITAR obligations
* Produce routine equipment maintenance reports
* Maintain strong customer relations and participate as a rostered member of the 24 x 7 x 365 on‑call team
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
* Trade Certificate III or IV in Communications or Electronic Engineering
* Senior technician will have at least three years relevant experience post‑qualification
* Knowledge of and experience with terrestrial or Satellite Communications Systems
* Proficient in Microsoft office tools, especially Excel
