About the Role
We are seeking a driven and commercially minded Business Development Manager to accelerate Fulfillio's growth by winning new clients and building long term partnerships. This role is ideal for a proactive "hunter" who thrives on opening doors, building relationships, and converting opportunities into sustainable revenue.
As a key contributor to Fulfillio's growth engine, you will own the full sales cycle from lead generation through to deal close working closely with marketing, operations, and leadership to deliver tailored fulfilment solutions.
This role is based in Melbourne, with interstate travel required for client meetings, industry events, and exhibitions.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities across eCommerce, retail, and related sectors.
* Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and qualification through to negotiation and contract execution.
* Build strong relationships with decision-makers and key stakeholders within target organisations.
* Develop trusted, long-term partnerships with new clients to maximise retention and lifetime value.
* Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities aligned with client growth and operational needs.
* Act as a commercial point of contact during onboarding, ensuring a smooth handover to operations.
* Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
* Provide insights and feedback to leadership to support service improvement and positioning.
* Work closely with marketing to convert inbound leads and align campaigns with sales objectives.
* Collaborate with operations and solutions teams to develop tailored proposals and pricing models.
* Share market and client feedback to improve offerings and customer experience.
* Represent Fulfillio at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
* Build referral relationships and strategic connections to support pipeline growth.
* Maintain accurate pipeline and activity reporting through CRM systems.
* Track performance against targets and provide regular updates to leadership.
Key Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field (desirable, not essential).
* Proven experience in business development, sales, or account acquisition roles.
* Min of 2 years' experience in a B2B business development or sales role.
* Demonstrated success in generating leads, closing deals, and achieving revenue targets.
* Experience in logistics, supply chain, fulfilment, or eCommerce industries is highly regarded.
* Strong understanding of consultative selling and solution-based sales approaches.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
* Commercially astute with the ability to assess deal profitability and long-term value.
* Confident using CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
* Self-motivated, results-driven, and accountable for outcomes.
* Resilient and persistent, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong relationship builder with high emotional intelligence.
* Organised, disciplined, and comfortable managing a pipeline independently.
* Willingness to travel interstate for client meetings and industry events.
* Valid driver's licence.
* Police check and reference checks required.
