The post holder will be responsible for undertaking clinical and administrative duties related to immunisation, primarily delivered on-site for primary and secondary school children in schools and community clinics across Bedfordshire, Luton, and Milton Keynes.
Main duties of the job
1. Vaccinate 20 to 25 school children per hour during Flu season.
2. Work collaboratively to support the team, organisation, and stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.
3. Promote and support the operation of the School Aged Immunisation Service.
4. Support Clinical Lead, Team Lead, and Programme Managers as applicable.
5. Attend sites across different locations as directed by your line manager.
6. Deliver effective, evidence-based, and competent care to patients.
7. Participate in clinical supervision and staff development.
8. Report, monitor, and process all clinical incidents, near misses, and complaints according to organisational policies.
9. Participate in audits, make recommendations, and share outcomes for learning.
10. Keep records up-to-date in line with company policies and guidelines.
11. Contribute actively to team meetings.
12. Undertake Gillick Competency Assessments and obtain verbal consent from parents and caregivers.
13. Perform other duties as appropriate for the role.

Vaccination UK has been commissioned by NHS England since 2015 to provide school-aged immunisations, including Influenza, across various counties and boroughs in England.
We are also commissioned to provide outbreak response for vaccine-preventable diseases in North London and deliver the infant BCG programme to newborns there.

Job responsibilities
1. Travel to various sites as needed within a small team of vaccinators.
2. Administer vaccinations efficiently to meet targets, including IM and nasal vaccinations, requiring proficiency in administering IM injections.
3. Conduct clinical triage of consent forms and contact parents/guardians as needed.
4. Address clinical enquiries from parents/guardians and staff within your scope.
5. Transport vaccines to and from sessions as required.
6. Participate in clinical supervision and contribute to staff development.
7. Report and process clinical incidents and near misses according to policies.
8. Ensure safeguarding concerns are promptly reported and followed up.
9. Participate in audits as required.
10. Undertake health promotion activities as directed.
11. Conduct Gillick Competency Assessments and obtain verbal consent via phone when needed.
12. Maintain professionalism as the representative of Vaccination UK.
13. Perform other duties as appropriate.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse, Pharmacist, or Allied Healthcare professional registered with NMC, GPhC, or HCPC.
* Nursing and/or Midwifery qualification.
* Basic Life Support certification.
* Evidence of competencies for relevant vaccinations.
* Proficiency in administering IM injections.
Experience
* Ongoing professional development.
* Knowledge of the Routine National Immunisation schedule.
* Understanding and implementation of informed consent principles.
* Knowledge of Cold Chain Policy.
* Experience working within PGD frameworks.
