Medical Typist
* ASAP start
* 4 month contract
* $34.47 per hour + super
Our client is seeking an experienced individual in medical administration with an emphasis on medical typing.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Provide medical administrative services including responding to telephone and/or face to face general enquiries, maintain filing systems, management of patient appointments and typing of medical transcriptions.
* Analyse and coordinate all correspondence (including, incoming and outgoing mail, briefings, telephone calls, diary appointments and emails as appropriate) for action, utilising appropriate tracking systems and deadlines to ensure matters are dealt with in regard to importance, priority and urgency.
* Maintain records management system (general and electronic), in line with State Records Management Act, to facilitate appropriate management of business documentation and correspondence.
* Prepare of agendas, minutes and other papers including, draft terms of reference for meetings and committees.
* Manage travel and other organisational arrangements including conference bookings for team as required.
* Maintain stationery, stores and process purchase orders / payments for the workplace, as well as identifying and acting upon equipment day to day functioning, interim checks and replacement and repair as necessary.
Experience and skills required:
* Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks
* Must have experience as a Medical Typist
* Intermediate computer skills - Microsoft Office
* Excellent communication skills
