Clinical Nurse Specialist Role Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service.

About the Role:

* To provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service.
">
* To employ advanced clinical skills and exercise extended autonomy of decision making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.
">
* To monitor and analyse patient length of stay in ED and time to care (TOC).
">
* To report relevant data to appropriate committees and follow established escalation processes.
">
* To maintain and monitor ED Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Hospital Admission Targets (HAT).
">
* To identify and implement strategies to improve patient flow and operational efficiency.
">
* To support change management initiatives to enhance the patient journey.
">
* To serve as a mentor and clinical resource for ED nursing staff.
">
">

Key Responsibilities:

* Maintain accurate records of patients' treatment plans and progress.
">
* Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement effective patient care plans.
">
* Provide training and support to junior nurses and other healthcare professionals.
">
* Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in regular audits and evaluations.
">
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high standards of patient care.
">

Requirements:

">
">
* Degree-qualified Registered Nurse with current registration.
">
* Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field.
">
* At least 3 years' experience in emergency nursing.
">
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise and problem solve to manage complex clinical care needs.
">
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
">
* Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
">
* Ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
">
