Project Director - Wastewater Treatment Plants
Sydney Water has partnered with a consortium to deliver water services as part of the P4S program in Sydney's Southern Region. The consortium comprises leading organisations committed to delivering water for our customers, protecting Sydney's way of life, and leaving a legacy for future generations.
The project involves upgrading mechanical, electrical, civil, and process-related assets on existing brownfield operating wastewater treatment plants. This includes working with plant teams to ensure continued operations during construction. Daily tasks will include managing resource allocation, guiding workflow, setting project goals, providing constructability input to design, reviewing progress against plans, ensuring contract and financial risk management, and monitoring staff resourcing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage project delivery according to NEC4 processes
* Assign resources to deliver works within budget, time, quality, and regulatory standards
* Provide constructability input to design
* Review progress against plans, contractual arrangements, and delivery milestones
* Ensure strong contract, commercial, and financial risk management
* Monitor staff and labour resourcing
* Perform duties in accordance with Sydney Water policies and procedures
Requirements:
* Engineering degree or equivalent (project management diploma or master desirable)
* Recent work experience managing medium to large projects
* Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental management
* Advanced financial and commercial management skills
* Client relationship and stakeholder management experience/business development
* Highly competent with MS office
