The opportunity
Austech Precision Engineering Pty Ltd, a leading provider of engineering services, is seeking a motivated and talented individual to join their team as an Apprentice - Certificate III in Engineering-Mechanical Trade (Fitting & Turning). This is a full-time role based in Rocklea, QLD 4106.
What you'll be doing
* Your will be trained on CNC lathe & milling machines and manual machines
* Undertaking a comprehensive apprenticeship program to gain practical skills and experience in the Fitting & Turning trade
* Performing a variety of tasks such as assembly, disassembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
* Operating a range of hand tools, power tools, and machinery to manufacture, modify, and repair parts
* Participating in on-the-job training and attending off-site training to complete the Certificate III in Engineering-Mechanical Trade qualification
* Working collaboratively with the engineering team to contribute to the overall success of the business
What we're looking for
* Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in engineering
* Willingness to learn and a commitment to completing the Certificate III in Engineering-Mechanical Trade (Fitting & Turning) qualification
* Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a workshop environment
