Recruitment Director - White Collar Engineering
The Role
Hydra Search are currently looking for several Power Systems Engineers across all levels of experience to play a key role within the management team, contributing significantly to design expertise and project delivery outcomes. You will be responsible for providing high-level engineering design, testing, supervision, client liaison, and project management services across the mining, mineral processing, and utilities sectors.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to grow within a dynamic, collaborative environment known for its innovative approach to electrical engineering design.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring a strong client focus and the ability to identify business opportunities, secure project work, and successfully manage its execution and delivery.
You will have:
* 3-10 years of relevant industry experience.
* Experience in a consulting role in mining/materials handling preferred
* Proficiency in system analysis, modelling, design calculations, and computer simulations.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and guide team members effectively.
* A commercial mindset, capable of setting and achieving project targets and budgets.
* Extensive background in project design within minerals processing, power generation, transmission/distribution, or utility sectors.
* Excellent communication and report writing abilities.
* A track record of mentoring and developing junior engineering staff is highly desirable.
Key Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:
* A degree in Electrical Engineering, recognised by Engineers Australia.
* Demonstrated leadership experience in similar roles.
* A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to team success.
* Power Simulation Assessments, including load flow, fault level, motor starting and harmonics.
* Experience with Regulatory submissions.
* Major electrical plant selection and specifications – Transformers, Switchgear, Cables, Motors.
* HV and LV switchboard design.
* Testing, Commissioning, Troubleshooting experience
