Join Roxela's team as a passionate Kitchen Hand, supporting our Centre Chef in creating nutritious meals for children aged 0-6 years.
The role offers a great work-life balance with a part-time schedule of 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the Centre Chef to plan and prepare daily meals, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea, adhering to dietary requirements and nutrition policies.
* Support the Centre Chef in preparing meals for children with special dietary needs and allergies.
* Ensure compliance with centre nutrition policies and guidelines.
* Build relationships with educators, children, and families to foster a sense of community and engagement.
* Lead cooking programs for children in the centre as required.
* Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, aligning with centre policies.
* Assist the Centre Chef with all kitchen tasks and responsibilities.
Requirements:
* Hold a relevant vocational qualification in commercial cookery.
* Possess food safety certificates.
* Demonstrate passion and experience in cooking a variety of nutritious foods suitable for children aged 0-6 years.
* Previous experience in early learning or educational facilities is desirable.
* Exhibit strong time management skills and confidence in managing a kitchen.
* Demonstrate reliability, positivity, and organization.
* Provide high-quality customer service when interacting with colleagues, families, and children.
* Hold a First Aid, CPR, and Anaphylaxis certificate (or be willing to obtain one).
* Pass a Working with Children Check.
