Under the direction of the Executive Director – Audience, the Head of Marketing leads the development, implementation, and delivery of the strategic marketing plan for Adelaide Fringe.
The role is responsible for ensuring all marketing activity aligns with organisational goals, audience growth priorities, and brand strategy.Working closely with the Marketing Manager, the Head of Marketing provides strategic oversight and leadership across all major campaigns, including digital, print, publicity, and social platforms.
The role ensures consistency of message, brand alignment, and timely execution across a dynamic festival environment, while guiding agency collaboration and high-level campaign direction.This position plays a key role in maintaining Adelaide Fringe's profile as one of Australia's leading cultural festivals, managing cross-departmental collaboration and driving high-quality marketing outcomes year-round.Proven senior-level experience in marketing, preferably within the arts, major events, festivals, or cultural sectors.
Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing teams, external agencies, and cross-departmental collaboration.Strong strategic marketing capability, with experience developing and overseeing multi-channel campaigns (including digital, social, and traditional media).Deep understanding of brand management and audience development, with the ability to uphold brand integrity across all platforms and stakeholders.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing campaign messaging, public-facing content, and internal briefs.Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and tight deadlines.High-level literacy, editing and proofing skills with attention to detail.Experience in managing marketing budgets, media spend, and campaign ROI tracking.Ability to interpret and apply data and insights to guide campaign decisions and audience strategy.Highly organised, process-driven, and results-focused with a proactive and solutions-oriented approachEmployee Assistance Program 9 Day Fortnight – every second Monday off 5 days bonus (post) festival leave for year-round staff (this is additional to four weeks annual leave) 2 days of Volunteer Leave for all full year and seasonal salaried staff Ongoing training opportunities Staff development days and opportunities An Adelaide Fringe Membership Flexible work environment An optional social calendar and events Adelaide Fringe is an annual open-access arts festival run over four weeks and five weekends in Adelaide, South Australia during February and March.
