As the Account Director for a major telco (Optus), the core responsibilities for this role would involve the development of a successful sales strategy and relationship engagement matrix in order to deliver profitable revenue and market share growth. Role and Responsibilities Planning / Opportunity Development Understand the Accounts’ business strategies and motivations to maximise Samsung’s unique proposition Develop, manage and measure Optus’ performance through detailed business planning and regular reviews against plan, and implementation of a sound metrics based approach to management Assess competition and identify displacement strategies within the account. Optimise channel engagement between the account and Samsung sales teams to drive a consistent sales outcome and positive customer experience Leverage all areas of the account across both Consumer and Business to identify and drive new product and solutions opportunities Organise and manage monthly, quarterly and 6-monthly business reviews Leverage the account to maintain Samsung’s existing install base of customers and products and identify growth opportunities in the CVM space Develop and customise ongoing tactical sales programs Relationship Build the appropriate network of relationships across all business units within the account. Establish an engagement matrix and facilitate the development of additional relationships between Samsung and the account. Strengthen the Samsung value propositions to the market through alignment and fine-tuning of Optus activities Ensure that all stakeholders are kept fully informed on all relevant Samsung initiatives, activities, product and solution developments through regular updates Manage channel conflict when it arises. Act as both an escalation path and direct point of contact as and when required Be responsible at all levels for overall the overall relationship and performance Business Management Meet assigned financial targets and market share targets Implement a sound forecasting method to provide Samsung visibility of future sales (weekly, monthly and quarterly) revenues Track the current performance against agreed target and determine ways to increase sales Achieve balanced sales performance across all Optus assigned business units Ensure that Samsung business processes are observed and act accordingly based on established policies Internal Create a tight internal engagement with Samsung business and support groups Build strong ties with sales teams in all segments to ensure there a solid understanding of solutions offered by the account which can be discussed with enterprise clients Identify accounts with the KAM team where solutions would fit and create the appropriate alignment between Samsung sales and alliance Optus sales reps Establish a communication plan for internal stakeholders, to keep them informed on the account performance and activity People Lead, inspire and empower a high-performing team, providing clear direction, setting high standards and fostering a collaborative, accountable team culture. Coach and develop team capability through regular 1:1s, skills-based training and tailored development plans to drive both individual growth and collective performance. Foster a culture of feedback and continuous improvement, ensuring team members feels supported, valued, and motivated to deliver their best. Enable cross-functional collaboration by aligning team priorities with key internal stakeholders, encouraging a ‘one-team’ mindset. Monitor and manage performance effectively, identifying and addressing gaps while recognising and rewarding excellence to retain top talent. Skills and Qualifications 10 years of B2C mobility sales experience Understanding of the retail market within Australia, preferably vendor/supplier management experience. Preferably experience in dealing with Optus/TPG. Strong communication skills and excellent relationship/stakeholder management Advanced use of Excel and Power Point Good analytical skills and attention to detail An understanding of technical requirements and capabilities of both Samsung and Optus/TPG A drive to improve operational processes Ability to work well in an extremely dynamic team environment What sets us apart from the rest?
