The Company
Our client operates a well-established underground coal mining operation in Central Queensland, supported by a high-performing and close-knit commercial team onsite.
With a strong focus on operational performance, this is a business where finance is embedded in the day-to-day running of the mine, not removed from it. The team works closely with site operations, providing real-time insight and support across cost, production, and commercial decision‐making.
The Appointment
This is not a senior or corporate accounting role, it is a hands‐on, operational finance position where you will take full ownership of your portfolio and play a key role in supporting site performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Full ownership of end‐of‐month processes
* Leading and contributing to cost review meetings
* Management of fixed assets, accruals, AP/AR and general ledger
* End‐to‐end cost control and reporting across site operations
* Acting as a key point of contact onsite — a true go‐to person for finance
* Working across a broader remit including contracts, procurement and warehouse
