As a key member of the project team, you will be required to work directly with the Pearling Fleet Engineering Manager to aid in defining all engineering project’s goals and objectives, create maintenance and dry-docking projects, budgets and schedules for fleet vessels, analyse progresses against work schedules, recommend actions to improve progress, and ensure accurate documentation and reporting on a consistent basis.
The ideal candidate will have a trade qualification, hold a CoC in Marine Engineering, be “hands on”, be experienced in mechanical repair and maintenance planning, project coordination and scheduling within maritime engineering environment.
Equally important will be your strong computer skills and attention to details.
Most critically, you must have the ability to form effective working relationships and work collaboratively with your team to maintain a high quality of work and drive process improvements to meet productivity requirements. Having an ability to problem solve and communicate directions and solutions is also essential.
Key responsibilities:
* Assist with the planning and creation of project administration documentation.
* Provide technical support and guidance to the Pearling Engineering team.
* Assist with the development of Project Work Packs and other operational instructions.
* Ensure all activities comply with the requirements of the relevant Work Health Safety Acts / Regulations.
* Assist with the development and maintenance of Pearling Engineering’s library of detailed drawings, specifications, manuals of design that are required for the manufacture and maintenance of Paspaley owned vessels, equipment and machinery.
* Assist with the development of routine operational maintenance programs for all vessels, equipment and machinery.
* Schedule all activities associated with assigned projects to produce an integrated critical path schedule, update as required, and report potential problems / problem areas. This may require regular vessel visits and include the overseeing of projects when undertaken.
* Update and evaluate the accuracy of the project forecast by assessing actual cost incurred and physical progress achieved for all phases of the project.
* Assist the Engineering Manager in presentations / reports to management.
* Consolidate data in the schedule and in project cost reports for the Engineering Managers review and approval.
* Support the Engineering Manager in contingency and change order management.
Desirable:
* Marine Engineering qualification; or
* Mechanical or fabrication trade qualification.
* Work at Heights qualification; and
* Confined Space Entry qualification
