Key Responsibilities
This role involves generating leads through customer interactions, including site visits, calls, conferences, and marketing initiatives. You will monitor customer trials and conduct technical testing and reporting to support the adoption of innovative technologies.
* Develop tailored sales proposals and maintain communication on order updates to close sales opportunities.
* Build market maps and provide market intelligence to inform pricing, product development, and strategic planning.
* Act as a subject matter expert during trials, site visits, and training, resolving technical queries and supporting safe chemical handling.
* Prepare and submit detailed sales quotes and proposals aligning product features with customer needs through technical analysis and understanding of product capabilities and limitations.
Duties and Expectations
This position requires:
1. A tertiary qualification in engineering or science preferred.
2. Proven self-starter with a successful track record in chemical and/or equipment sales.
3. Minimum 5 years experience in technical sales within the water treatment industry or similar.
4. Strong knowledge of the Australian municipal water and wastewater treatment market.
5. Proven success in commercialising and driving adoption of new products or technologies.
6. Solid understanding of chemical applications, formulations, and water treatment processes.
7. Demonstrated b2b technical sales experience including account management and sales closure.
8. Commercial acumen in lead generation, customer engagement, pricing, forecasting, and negotiation.
9. Available for interstate travel to deliver conference presentations.
10. Energetic, personable, and customer-focused with strong relationship-building and time management skills.
