Job Description
We are seeking an Urban Design professional with 3‑4 years of professional experience and a strong interest in the built environment, particularly the relationship between buildings, public spaces and urban systems, including innovative housing models and delivery methods.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the design and delivery of urban design and master‑planning projects across a range of sector types and scales.
* Support the preparation of analysis, concept plans, design reports, diagrams and presentations across a range of programme platforms.
* Work closely with our multi‑disciplinary team to create integrated design outcomes.
* Provide building and development analysis, including compliance testing and capacity studies.
* Assist with research, analysis and community/stakeholder engagement processes.
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
The role requires proven skills in urban design, an appreciation of the principles of architecture and/or landscape architecture, strong conceptual design thinking, visual communication skills, the ability to operate effectively and efficiently in a deadline‑focused environment, and principles of regenerative urban development.
* A degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or a related field.
* 3–5 years of professional experience – urban‑design‑focused experience preferred.
* Experience working within local planning and approval contexts in particular NSW.
* Strong interest in the built environment, particularly the relationship between buildings, public spaces and urban systems, including innovative housing models and delivery methods.
* Demonstrated experience in urban design projects including mixed‑use urban projects, residential/community planning, campus planning or transit‑related projects.
* Demonstrated high‑level communication skills, including report writing and the ability to undertake presentations.
* Good graphic communication and technical skills (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, Grasshopper, QGIS).
* Ability to collaborate in a team environment and contribute ideas with enthusiasm.
* A self‑starter able to work independently and ask for feedback when needed.
