This is a permanent part-time (FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2026.

The Role
The successful applicant will ideally possess outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and the wider community. You should be highly motivated and implement high‐quality, engaging and effective learning programmes. Experience and skills in evidence‐based literacy teaching pedagogies is desirable with the expectation of creating a safe and supportive learning environment that values diversity and promotes equity for all students.
The successful applicant will deliver high‐quality, engaging programmes in Aboriginal languages, fostering linguistic skills and cultural understanding among students that embed Aboriginal perspectives, histories, and cultural practices into the curriculum, aligned with School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) requirements for language learning.
We are seeking someone who can build strong relationships with Aboriginal families, Elders, and community members to ensure culturally respectful and authentic language teaching, and actively contribute to Maidens Park's reconciliation journey by promoting truth‐telling, respect, and equity in education.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south‐west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3‐year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3‐year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
*Note that south‐west teachers are not eligible to move to another south‐west school under this trial.
