About the role
We are seeking an experienced Master Planner / Scheduler to support a large, multi-stream digital transformation program within a Queensland Government division. This role will be instrumental in designing, maintaining, and managing complex integrated schedules to support the delivery of strategic ICT initiatives.
Working within the Digital Innovation Division, you will collaborate with program and project teams, uplift scheduling capability across the organisation, and contribute to the maturity of project management practices.
We particularly welcome applications from candidates with a background in health.
Key responsibilities
* Develop, build, and manage a complex, resource- and cost-engineered program schedule spanning multiple projects.
* Work closely with project and program staff to monitor status and ensure alignment with governance and strategic objectives.
* Track baselines, conduct what-if analysis, identify schedule risks, and contribute to contingency planning.
* Prepare and deliver routine and ad hoc reports tailored to the needs of various stakeholder groups.
* Support risk and issue identification, reporting, and implementation of suitable treatments.
* Promote capability uplift by supporting project teams in the effective use of PMIS tools and best-practice scheduling techniques.
* Develop, implement, and champion high-quality scheduling standards, procedures, and guidelines across the program.
Highly desirable criteria
* Demonstrated history of successfully scheduling and supporting large-scale, complex projects or programs.
* Strong consultation, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain effective working relationships.
* High-level capability in preparing briefings, reports, and advice for diverse audiences.
* Ability to work independently, use initiative, manage competing priorities, and adapt to change.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
* Knowledge of PRINCE2, MSP, or PMBOK Schedule Management standards.
Desirable criteria
* Experience supporting operationally critical or multi-agency ICT programs.
* Exposure to scheduling within complex government environments.
* Ability to facilitate capability uplift and mentor project teams in best-practice scheduling.
Skills and experience
Mandatory:
* Proven expertise in Microsoft Project Professional, Microsoft Project Online, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft DevOps, and Microsoft Planner.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience applying professional scheduling techniques to align organisational objectives with project deliverables.
Additional skills:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and presentation abilities.
* Ability to work collaboratively in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
