Overview
Based at our welcoming Bairnsdale Campus, we have an opportunity for a Campus Student Support Assistant to join our team. This is a part time (0.4 fte), permanent position to start at the beginning of Term 4 2025. Please state the days you are available in your application. This role will see you supporting a Specialist Learning Support Teacher and a Year 3 Student who is joining the campus in 2026 with additional neurodiversity learning needs.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Learning Support Teacher (LST) to provide consistency and reinforcement of strategies.
- Support a student-centred approach, upholding dignity, respect, and unconditional positive regard in day-to-day interactions.
- Adapt support across academic, social, and self-care contexts as needed.
- Engage in professional learning and training in key programs and strategies (e.g., Zones of Regulation, structured literacy).
- Provide reliable support to enable the Learning Support Teacher to use planning and release time effectively.
- Offer respectful support with toileting and hygiene needs, following student care plans, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding the student’s dignity.
- Utilise communication supports, including AAC and visuals, to assist expressive and receptive language.
Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Education Support (with previous experience desirable), or Certificate III in Education Support with recent relevant experience.
- Skilled in working one-to-one with a student with a disability to enable full participation in classroom and education activities, liaising efficiently with classroom teachers and campus learning support teachers, and maintaining accurate learning records.
- A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required for this role.

The OneSchool Global Bairnsdale Campus is located on the outskirts of Bairnsdale, in the charming village of Lucknow. The historic building is outfitted with cutting-edge technology to support both online and in-person teaching.
