About the role:

The purpose of this position is to manage the day-to-day operations of the Allied Health Services, Social and Emotional Well Being, Mental Health, Culture Care Connect, Integrated Team Care (ITC), Community Connector, Australian Family Partnership Program (AFPP), Commonwealth Home Support programs, Deadly Choices, and Transport teams.

The position reports to the Director, Operations in delivering holistic, culturally appropriate services with a focus on continuous improvement and positive outcomes for clients.

The position has supervisory responsibilities of the Allied Health Team.

Key responsibilities:

* Assist the Director Operations with the implementation and evaluation of services and programs through planning and reviewing operational activities to ensure alignment to the strategic direction and priorities of the organisation.
* Provide leadership to the Allied Health and Programs within the portfolio to ensure a coordinated approach to service delivery to benefit the client experience and outcomes in accordance with best practice standards.
* Provide daily monitoring and oversight of service performance including meeting contractual key performance indicators.
* Work with the Finance Department team to review, and interpret financial reports, including the ability to analyse data and prepare reports within the parameters of approved budgets ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and contractual arrangements.
* Provide leadership in continuous quality improvement and risk management, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and RACGP standards for safe and effective health care provision.
* Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to primary health care that is culturally safe and responsive for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
* Support and lead recruitment processes in collaboration with program coordinators, ensuring induction and orientation activities of new staff are conducted in accordance with staff induction checklist, funding requirements and organisational policies and procedures.
* Maintain and monitor robust data collection systems to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with funding and organisational requirements.
* Ensure that all clinical and non-clinical equipment are maintained, and systems for ordering of stock is managed effectively with administrative coordinator and team and clear communication of administrative systems and processes are implemented and maintained in accordance with service requirements.
* Gather and record statistical data relevant to measuring performance against agreed indicators and participate in review and evaluation activities.
* Participate in organisational and community activities to advance the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people including meetings, supervision and performance reviews in accordance with organisational requirements.

For applicants to be successful in this role, they should demonstrate:

* Demonstrates an advanced level of expertise and proficiency in delivering allied health services. Proficient in applying evidence-based principles to clinical services of a complex nature, including the ability to adapt established procedures and methods with minimal supervision.
* Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures from an historical and contemporary perspective, including the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
* Exhibits strong operational management skills, overseeing the day-to-day activities of a multidisciplinary team. This includes high level knowledge in operational planning, financial management, asset and human resource management, staff recruitment, procedure development, quality improvement, risk management, performance appraisal, and team development.
* Demonstrates advanced people management and interpersonal skills, including effective communication and the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders as well as effectively advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Proficient in problem solving, negotiation, conflict resolution and building a cohesive and strategic team.
* Demonstrated ability to meet and work within the core values and behaviours of Wuchopperen.

Qualifications and experience:

* Proven ability managing multidisciplinary teams, delivering effective workforce and operational planning, financial and asset management, recruitment, policy development, quality improvement, and performance management. Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement and problem solving skills.

Requirements:

* Commitment to work within the principles of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community control including a willingness to develop the leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
* Ability to use Microsoft products and the ability to use or willingness to gain proficiency in the client information management systems.
* It is a condition of employment in this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B
* It is recommended for the employee to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
* All employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, students, visitors, volunteers and fellow staff members. Employees must report any hazards or incidents, co-operate in emergency drills, undertake Workplace H&S training as required, and lodge risk assessments for all external and internal risk activities.
* Possession of a current CPR certificate or commitment to obtain within the first six weeks of employment is essential.
* Possession of a current Queensland "CA" class driver's licence is essential.
* Hold a current Blue Card (for suitability to work with children and young people).
* Proof of qualifications is required to be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
* A commitment to adhere to Wuchopperen's policies and procedures.
* Successful applicant to consent to a broader Criminal history check.
