Join our vibrant Culture and Leisure team as the Coordinator Theatre Communications at The Wedge Performing Arts Centre in a temporary parttime (0.54 EFT) job share capacity.
Located in Sale, Victoria, The Wedge is an award-winning contemporary cultural hub for performing arts and entertainment, complete with a 390-seat theatre, 50 - seat black box studio, theatre bar, function and rehearsal rooms. The Centre presents in excess of 150 events each year, featuring a diverse mix of local, professional and community programming, with annual attendance of over 50,000.
Reporting to the Performing Arts Director, the Coordinator Theatre Communications is responsible for coordinating marketing, social media and managing client
relationship initiatives for The Wedge Performing Arts Centre.
This position forms part of a 0.8 EFT job share arrangement, with the successful applicant working 0.54 EFT and the remaining 0.26 EFT undertaken by the existing Coordinator, ensuring continuity of communications, marketing and customer service throughout the year.
We are seeking a social media marketing professional to manage The Wedge's social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram. Your ability to create engaging digital content, social media posts and visual media is a key element to success in this role.
You will also have a natural ability to build strong relationships, liaising with sponsors and identifying opportunities to form partnerships, as well as working directly with artists and their teams to support touring productions. You will be a team player who takes initiative and proactively seeks opportunities to deliver exceptional service.
In addition, you will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, be customer focused, professionally presented, and thrive in a creative
atmosphere.
Key tasks include:
Developing new marketing materials for shows, which will continue to be added throughout the year. This may include assisting with graphic design and creating posters, flyers, images, website blurbs, program design and social media content.
Adding new shows to the website and social media platforms and updating existing shows, including postponements or cancellations.
Responding to social media enquiries.
Providing box office customer service, including answering phones and assisting at the counter.
Managing venue relationships with sponsors, including preparing a sponsor's guide for the 2026 shows, coordinating sponsorship allocations and arranging sponsor functions.
Creating and distributing regular Electronic Direct Mail (EDM) communications to members monthly and when new shows are added.
Preparing specific EDMs for hirers as requested.
Producing seasonal newsletters and communicating relevant venue updates to ticket buyers.
Undertaking general communication, marketing, sponsorship and publicity projects and duties as required.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate how they meet the criteria below:
* Tertiary qualification in marketing or similar (desirable), or experience working in a performing arts venue or arts organisation.
* Ability to communicate clearly with patrons, clients, sponsors and other industry stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to prepare media releases and other marketing documentation.
* Demonstrated experience using a range of software packages, including Microsoft suite products, publishing, email campaign management, web and customer
* Management systems, and graphic design software.
* Ability to plan workloads and determine priorities.
